"Faster than a Ferrari"

I got a kick out of this news story I saw on my Yahoo homepage. Scroll down to the 9th paragraph.
"Hoang said he was caught late last year racing his prized car, on which he spent at least $10,000 to get into top shape. The 350-horsepower engine topped out at 160 mph, Hoang said, swearing it could beat a Corvette or even a Ferrari."
Seriously read the whole thing though.

i posted a link to the same page a few minutes ago. the bad thing is that this guy is giving imports and import lovers a bad rep.

now that he was on tv anyone who saw it and sees any import they'll just think ," there's one of those street racers, they're a menus".

Where did you post it? I can't seem to find it.

His attitude is just dumb. "My honda is faster than a ferrari." God, what an idiot.
I do agree with his one statement where he says they should auction off the parts and give the money to charity though. It's such a waste for them to crush those cars.

I'm just glad I'm not driving a Japanese car or on the west coast, cause I would have shot that kid by now.

Your tax dollars hard at work. Why didn't they part them out and sell them to recoup the costs -- and then some -- of enforcing the law? Oh, that's right, their dumbcrap politicians.

It's because of the whole mentality towards the import scene- kill it no matter the cost.

that's partly why i limit how much i do to my car. i mean if it comes down to the point that any car that fits the profile will be crushed, then i'll use my money for something else.

and from what a co worker told me that's exactly what's happening in cali.

they cant crush your car for racing when they have no proof that you are racing like if you only race on the track they cant look at your car and say oh your a street racer crush it..
