ok so i picked it up, and i must say there is one major dissapointment for me in GT4. there is no sensitivity on the throttle or brake. lemme know if i missed a setting, because it would be sad for me to think "hey, NFSU and NFSU2 had throttle sensitivity, why doesnt the almighty GT4 have it?"

The dual shock has analog buttons, so there is sensitivity.

BTW LMAO at the comparison between GT4 and NFSU.

If you're having trouble with brake and gas, try playing with the TCS and ASM.

Or maybe you're just a button jammer j/p

Dude, the guages on the screen show how much gas you're giving and how hrad youre braking. That's what the blue and red bar guages are for.

are u sure you're using a real PS2 controller, cause mine has plenty of different throttle/brake sensitivity points
or maybe you are a button jammer and you're pushin a bit too hard all the time

raine:
im not talking hardware. this is on a PS2, with real sony OEM all black dual shock 2 controllers.

sr20detpower:
yeah i know what button mashing is, and i dont do it. i pressed hard, i pressed light, and no matter what the car either squat or dove (yeah it still pretty much stock) and the lil blue and red bars (yes i know what they are, why theyre there...) always top out. steering is variable sensitivity, so i know its not the hardware. lemme know what im missing other than brain power.

raine:

seriously, i let the car sit and i SLOWLY push down X until it registers. when it finally does, i havent even pushed the button all the way down, and its going full throttle.

Well unless you got some super random GT4 copy, I don't know what else it could be.

controller works fine - check
gt4 store bought like all of us - check

the only thing left would be the user, so that's why I said the "button mashing" thing (all in fun, of course)

IDEA: load up any regular stock car )prefer low power) and... try the mushroom (analog stick). Does that give you proportional throttle?

GT4: best buy
PS2: best buy
extra DS2: best buy
stock vehicle: MR2.
R3 sensitivity check: all or nothing, just like buttons.

S.S.D.D.

im gonna create a new game on a different card. see if that clears it up. and yes, my cards are PS2 cards.
