Guy Gets Shot
About a week ago in my area, a man and his friend, both in the same car, were shot simply because they were playing their system too loud. The driver was killed, but the passenger survived a bullet wound to the head.
This just goes to show that anything can happen, and that there are some pretty ****ed up people out there.

He wasn't saying that the guy was gay.
He was saying that the circumstances were "gay".
"Gay" in this context is used to express an extent of stupidity or unfounded action.
It's the cool thing to say when you don't like something that happened.

whoa whoa easy there doc... if I were comparing getting shot to being "gay" as in "homosexual" then I'd say:
- "that's like being homosexual."
Dunno about the right coast, but "gay" out here doesn't necessarily refer to sexual preference. same as "lame" or "retard" or "moron".
SLANG
Let's go to England, and I'll say "...that's a ***." They'll say to me, "...yes it is; want another cigarette?"
I love ya doc... in a NON-GAY WAY

Here is a similar story. Not the exact one, but same circumstances.

wow. serious droppin of science going on in here. i mean, peeps breaking down the etymology of certain words up in here. ****'s crazy. seriously, i think the gay thing (in this context) has been far removed from it's previous meaning (not to mention, at one point in time all it meant has "happy"; ain't THAT a *****?). although i can understand the Doc's concern for fairness, as we don't want the boards to be a place where people are singled out or made to feel unaccepted, i think that was not the intended use of the word. for more fun, try dissecting "rice", "riceboy", or "ricer". i'm sure those can be taken as racial slurs even though the usuage of the words have changed drastically.
whoa, where the hell did that come from?
anyway, back on topic, that was pretty ***ked up.
