S15 engine? Did you watch the movie? Its an RB26. It was in the S15, but definitely not an SR20.
My girlfriend and I both enjoyed this movie. Its a lot of action and less cheesey dialog about which the writers know nothing. They aren't passing drifting off as new in the movie, it is just new to the main character.
Spoiler: Anyone else catch the Keiichi Tsuchiya kameo? I laughed so hard.
I dunno, I think this movie actually offers a lot to people who just want to go see a flick with some cool looking cars and good action, without having your intelligence insulted like you did in the first two movies (mostly the first one, but the second one was pretty rediculous too) Plus the storyline/characters are much improved over the previous movies.
The action scenes were great, chalk one up for actually using stunt drivers instead of cars on platforms for most of the shots. There were a couple of shots that looked digital, but most looked very, very good.
All in all I had a fun friday at the cinema.

Going in I thought that he would annoy the crap out of me, but it really wasn't bad. The only thing southern about him was his accent.

You see, a Twinkie is yellow on the outside, and white on the inside; a perfect, horribly racist nickname for the caucasian star's sidekick. Of course, put a black guy in there and it doesn't make any sense. At least they weren't stupid enough to change it to "Oreo" instead...
