Need a Car

damn. i'm wondering if it's only me, or does anybody else realize that, here at a 240 site, the 240 is being straight up dissed. oh well, to each his/her own i guess...
anyhow, i have to agree w/s900flug about the supra. relatively cheap, stock turbo'd, and can make gobs of power w/minimal fuss. i'm referring to the MKIII, btw (as the MKIV turbo can get to be stratospherically expensive)...

yeah deffenitly the MKIII MKVI's can get very very pricey. i have an 89 supra turbo and i loves it its BPU and runs real nice at the strip. a little akward if you want to do much else with it though.

thx for the info! and btw im not 'dissin' the 240.. my bro keeps telling me to get one, like a 90-93 coupe and do a jdm conversion with silvia front end, sr20det, that stuff but i dunno, is that a good idea? my bro's friend has a 240 and he's gonna get an rb25 swap and he says to me to get a 240 because they are good and you can just swap the engine because he knows some guys or something

it's all good. i just thought there was a sense of irony when, on a 240 board, someone says that it's weak and they want something else. not that i'm all pissed off about it or anything, but maybe it was a failed attempt at some form of humor...
as far as whether or not u should go for one, that's really up to u and ur plans for the car. it is somewhat of a "Mr. Potato Head", in that u can change this, swap that, and convert the other to suit ur needs. however, like any other vehicle, it has both pros and cons. for instance, if u planned on having more than one passenger frequently, i wouldn't recommend this car for u.
where swapping is concerned, u wanna get an idea of how much power u want/need. that also depends on if ur gonna do serious track/drift/drag type stuff. in light of that, it's always best to learn on the stock motor so that ur driving ability can grow w/the increase in power instead of playing a potentially deadly game of catchup. to illustrate that point, i was reading over at NICO yesterday that someone almost wrecked their ride right after an RB20DET swap. he tried to turn and gun it like he usually does and spun out, almost falling into a ditch. so it all depends...
anyway, hope this was helpful!
