New Nissan Silvia Scheduled Release Date!!
Apparently there is news of the new Silvia...heres an excerpt from Car and Driver magazine:

I'm excited!
It was back in September when we reported on rumored details of the upcoming all-new Nissan Silvia. We are now presenting you with the first computer generated picture of how the new car will look like as well as with the latest details we have gathered about it.
Codename the S16-R, the all-new Silvia could see production as early as in the end of 2006. The current engine options are said to be a wild twin-turbo 3.0 lt. engine producing 300 hp for the Japanese market and a 3.5 lt. V6 producing roughly the same power (290hp) for the international market.
One really wonders what has happenned to the gentleman's agreement between Japanese manufacturers that the power of production cars should be limited to 280hp - but of course we can only be happy that Nissan is set to produce what will probably be one of the more powerful Japanese production cars!
We have also heard that Nissan engineers are examining various transmission options including an 8-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Looks like the new Silvia could very well be the first production Japanese car to break the 300km/h (188mph) barrier! (More...)
