Question thinkn about sellin 240 for mr2

well im haveing mixed emotions and figured some of your advice/convinceing could help me out. i like mr2's for some odd reason always have, my 240 hasnt been running right and i just want a car that runs, i found a 91 mr2 for 3500, i was THINKING about selling my 240 for it, what you guys think? talk me out of it if you think its for the better or if anyone knows anything bad about mr2's, but what do you think i could get for my 240 its a 90 with a ka24e w/140,xxx miles,5spd, fresh paint, clean interior, the only thing wrong with it is the engine needs some work, so whats a good price to ask? and should i do it?

I am far from a MR2 expert, or even someone that knows a few things...but this is from what I heard from a MR2 owner of 4 years.

If the MR2 wasn't properly maintained(which can be very expensive) then there will be quite a lot of problems. Cooling system is one. They are quite expensive from what I know to maintain well...so good luck

I also heard that it is hard to work on because its a mid engine car...what I mean is...hard to reach areas (headers, turbos, etc)...thats just what I heard from a friend who has an MR-2. Just use that money for a swap. KA24DE or SR (lots of upgrades). Let us know what you decide. Good luck.

well still undecided i love my 240 dearly just got fresh paint and id hate to see it go, i wish i could just keep em all the crx, the 240 and get a mr2 but if i want the mr got to get rid of the 240, my friend just got one and im going to drive it and see what i think, and then i may decide. its tough though but i dont think it will end up happening, cause the mr2 is a n/a and i would love nothin more than to take that money and swap in a good ol sr or ca18det. but i'll see once i get the chance to drive one and then ill sit down and work it out.

MR2 handle awesome-like. A small MR car like that is sexy. The NA would be best for short tracks rather than drag or huge tracks because the NA has a broader powerband and the turbo has a lot of high end. If you're gonna be autocrossing or running the touge, the NA would be best, but for drag or hardcore track, go turbo. Eitehr way, both cars are sweet handlers. Only thing is, one crash ad you're gone.

yea they seem kind of scary a friend of mines cousin died in a mr2 last year, thats affecting my decision greatly cause up until then if i had a opurtunity like this to get one id be all over it, the mr2s still for sale and im still having thoughts i just wish i could keep both but that aint gona happen, but i know turbos got to spool and turbo lag and all that isnt good for autox but i just love the feeling of boost ever since i drove a boosted car (wrx) never owned by me though, just stomping the gas then after about a few short seconds getting thrown back into the seat and watching the needle climb was great. i want more of that kind of action haha. so i might be patient pass up the mr2 and find a ca18 or sr for the good ol 240 theres always another mr2 somewhere.

Haha, CA will give you a lot of that boost time because of all the extra revs you get.
