my tools were sooo clean and one rainy night i was working late and left the box open... ALL ruined. they were not stainless.

 

^^Yup. And things like that are another good reason to get warrantied tools.

I'm a ditz, so stuff like that happens all the time... from tools getting rained on to tools shooting out of an open header (I accidentally left an 18mm socket in a header.. it seemed like a good idea... that thing had the force of a damn bullet comign out, and it was HOT). I abuse my stuff, and am definitely grateful for warranties.

 

ha have you every managed to start a motor with a socket and ratchet on the crank..

that thing is still flying in the air somewhere.

 

lol ive tourched my craftsman wrenches and hit them with a hammer to get that one time angle i needed then returned it and got another as for air tools i never trust anything other then mac or Snap-on

i got my 1/2 Mac gun part number AW480J i love it its light for a 1/2 gun its really quiet so hopefully my hearing will be intact by the time im 30 and its powerfull 1000flbs of useable touque in reverse

 

with tools though bros. ill be honest..its all in how you use them... for year i have been building with tools from auto zone and advance... never broken anything vital or striped a bolt that was not already damages..

yea the higher dollar ones give you that warm feeling inside.. you just have common sense for whats crap and whats decent..

to work on your 240 you mainly need 10,12,14,17,19,21, and 24mm. with these you should be able to completely dismantle your car.

while having the right tools makes things essayer, cheap and expensive tools are only as good as the person using them. just buy any decent tools and you'll be fine.

 

lol well i only buy quality tools because my job depends on it if i was an athome self mechanic i would probably buy mostly craftsman

i have zipties in my tool box but not holding up my toolbox but i do have zipties holding up my bumper jdm dorifto tyte style hahaha

haha lol just messing with ya man your car should come with a tire iron already unless you got aftermarkey lugs

 

i've never payed attention to the size of the socket i use but it's good to know. i don't use the tire iron because i torque every thing to proper spec.

 

torque to proper spec? now why would you do that hahaha you know the dealer dosnt let alone shops. anyway i know what you mean though i dont really trust a tire iron so id torque them with a torque wrench but i do trust my trusty 1/2 impact gun LOL. unless its aluminum or in the motor i just hit it with my trusty impact gun and its tight enough. Big strong things = 1/2" Air Impact gun, smaller semi weak things = electric 3/8' impact gun
