Whats the Diff?

Whats the Difference between short blocks and long blocks? I just now took notice to this about a couple weeks ago reading a article in super street about a supra that had swapped for a short block. Then last week browsing around the internet for engines I started noticing that their were short and long block versions of the same engine. So what r they for?
P.S. yes I did a search on the site and came up with nothing just so u know lol.

No, that's big block and small block. He's asking for short block and long block, which I believe is a different term. For some reason, I thin a short block is just the block w/o the head, and a long block is a block including the head.
