YEA, NEED THE BRAND.

YES BRAND NAME PLEASE! I WANNA WORK ON MY SUSPENSION BEFORE I DUMP MY USDM SR20DE IN IT THATS SITTING AT A FRIEND'S GARAGE IN FLORIDA. YES ITS A DE NOT A DET LOL. OUTTA AN INFINITY G30 I BELIEVE WITH 30,000 MILES ON IT. ONLY BOUT 10 HP LESS THAN THE JDM DET. HEY WHEN YOU GET A GREAT DEAL FROM YOUR MECHANIC, CAN'T GO WRONG.

IT'S ONLY THE ENGINE...NOT THE WHOLE G20 SETUP. IT HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE.

KA24

LISTEN, THE KA24 WAS ALSO USED FOR THE NISSAN 4X4 PICKUP AT THE TIME, AND THE NISSAN STANZA WHICH WAS FWD AS WELL. THE OIL [PAN IS NO PROBLEM AT ALL. TAKE A LOOK INTO IT IF MONEY IS TIGHT FOR THE DET. THAT'S WHY I CHOSE THAT INSTEAD OF THE DET...BUT ANYWAY...WHAT BRAND ARE THE COILS? I'LL GO 65 AND NO HIGHER.

both KA but on is FWD and the other is RWD and the oil pans would be in different spots because of the tranny I jus want to know how in hell are you gonna get a FWD motor to mount on a RWD tranny and put into a RWD car ?

I realize this is hijacking this thread even further but there is NO WAY that you'll get a front wheel drive DE to fit into a 240. The motor mounts are different, the ignition system is different, the accessories have different mounting points, the trannies are different, etc. etc. etc. ECUs and wiring are different too. I've got a Sentra SE-R with the SR20 which I've done a lot of work on, and I've been doing massive research into swapping an SR20DET into the 240 I just got.

Your friend who has an SR20 in his 200sx has a FWD SR20. The 200SX SE-R came stock with the FWD SR20, as did the original B13 Sentra SE-R (my other car), the Infiniti G20, the B14 Sentra SE, the B14 Sentra SE-L, the B15 Sentra SE w/PP, and the NX2000. There are FWD SR20s everywhere, but they still won't fit into a 240.

Also, you mention that the KA was also used in the pickup. The pickup was RWD! The Stanza and later the Altima both used the KA24, and were FWD, but like the FWD/RWD SR20, the FWD/RWD KA24 are NOT interchangeable, as far as I know.

To sum it up: your mechanic is either lying, or is ignorant. If you want a DE or DET in your rear drive 240, you'll need to talk to an importer.
