It's very nice quality kit, with a very high price tag. The thp kit is $375 to your door, it's a nice kit, it puts the engine as low and far back as possible.
it requires no moding of your crossmember. They also sell a driveshaft for, I think, $500.

top hat kits can suck my ***. they fit like **** and use weak steel so they flex... alot. i hate everything tophat stands for.

use mckinney, you wont regret it. just dont use their driveshaft. usually, your swap will come with a driveshaft yoke in the tail of the tranny, plugging the hole. take that, along with your 240 driveshaft and have a local axle shop make one for you. should not run over $150. i do it all day here in Tampa, FL.

Durdan, what is it that you don't like about THP? I really doubt they have wronged you in any way possible. I'll be honest with you to, THP doesn't go around bashing any other shops/competition. I worked for THP for two years, hell since they opened the doors. Mike has done nothing but take care of his customer base, any problem he makes sure it is fixed ASAP. You should really watch how you conduct your business and what you say about other people. THP kits can suck my @ss isn't professional at all! We don't bad mouth McKinney motorsports and that's the biggest competitor. They are here to help the public, who is looking for a cost efficient way to have FUN! As for this mount issue i'm done with it. To each there own!

well ill just say this...... there are parts for every budget level.. some parts come with an high price that will make some owners sleep well at night.

most people base their opinion on first hand use/bad buddy experience.

personaly if i were doing an rb20 swap i would by the cheaper mounts and doctor them up myself if needed. im not about spending globs of money in one spot mainly becuase i cant affoard to lol.

businesses aside... i dont care for their parts. i wont backpedal. i dont sell parts nor do i endorse parts that i feel are sub-par. i have used everything out there as i have running a shop for the last 7 years now. Tophat parts fit for crap. their RB mounts sit the motor up too high, causing people to have to smash their trans tunnels. the RB20 intake manifold upper half i order from them 4 yrs ago was crap and didnt fit. everything i have tried of theirs has been notches below the quality i seek for my customer base. if i have the choice between a part that is more money but no complaints, and a cheap part with complaints, i choose the pricier part. i know mckinney works and works well. i feel that it is all of our responsibilities to inform other potential people of the quality they might get.

are you saying that i shouldnt tell people when i feel a part is crap? i believe that with my experience level, i especially, am informed enough to tell someone when something is difficult to deal with, especially when they are on a novice level.

as far as my tone, im a realist and talk to customers in the same manor i talk to my friends. my customers find that it instills a level of trust with them that other shops do not. they know i do not hold back and tell people exactly how it is that i feel.
