struts/springs or coilovers, sway bars, strut bars, pillowball upper mounts, pillowball tension rods. Best I can come up with. Raine can prob give a more extensive list.

As cath said, read the rule book for solo2 and 1. See what class you will be running, what modifications are needed to run other classes and etc.

hard part is, there's no rulebook available unless you go to an event to buy one... unless someone can find a current rulebook online (which I've tried to search for with no results)

...just how serious are you about Auto-X in the first place? If you're pretty new to susp. like you said, then maybe you should research more as to what each component does for you and your car, instead of going out and buying a bunch of suspension stuff and slapping it all on the car without knowing how to ajust or tune all the stuff. Knowing what each part does will help you understand more about suspension, whether you auto-X or not.

BTW even with just a set of high-perf. tires on a stock car will get you around the course pretty good.

If you're new to autocrossing, the best advice is to leave it stock.

Run in Stock class (GS) with a set of Koni's, upgraded front swaybar and good tires. You'll learn more about driving this way, instead of spending time adjusting the car to cover up for driving mistakes.

Here are the legal mods for GS:
Struts/shocks
cat-back exhaust
plug wires
Any OEM style air filter (must keep box intact)
Front Swaybar

EVERYTHING else must remain stock.

drifting, autox, gymkhana, and circuit cars have pretty much similar suspension set ups. Basically making the car more stable and predictable. When suspension companies start adding "Drift Spec" to their products, it doesn't mean much since they're not much different circuit, gymkhana, etc. it's just a marketing tool. Kei Office specialize in suspension, not just "drifting" suspension. They make some of the best products so their prices are high. If you want top of the line, Kei Office, Zeal, and Apex'i are probably the best althought alot of their higher end products are designed for track use only.
