Question About the HICAS system

I jus have a question about the HICAS system on some of the 240s...Just wondering if the HICAS system would be good or not for drifting? If not, what ways can i change that to suite my car for drifting? I know that the HICAS system steers all-4-wheels...but jus trying to get more info about using it for drifting. thanks

This is kinda controversial, some people say there isnt much of a difference and others that swear it make drifting horrible. You can always get a HICAS eliminator and be done with it if it does bother you.

so... does the Power Steering pump need to be switched if installing the eliminator?.. There was a vague reference mentioned about it in a previous thread...

Hey LTSCUDRFT.... Speaking of HICAS is it true that all 89-94 240's IN CANADA came with the VLSD with or without HICAS?

I've been throwing around the idea of buying a 240 and have been debating weather or not to go HICAS simply for the LSD and just eliminateing the All Wheel Steering...
I think I'm leaning toward non Hicas and having the LSD put in afterwards.
.. seems like less of a hassle that way.... and I wouldn't have to worry about all the extra electronics and components attached to the rear end.

Yeah...

actually I found a ton of stuff about the HICAS system on www.zilvia.net.
unfortunately... most of it ends up in a flame war about how HICAS really does or doesn't make a difference and it's all driver and all the cool drifters don't like it... and no one is a real drifter... and stock vlsd sucks and no you suck and no you suck blah blah blah blah blah blah blah...

There are some good links regarding the eliminators... but
:: shrugs ::

It seems to all come down to opinion. In my little experience with rear wheel drive... I guess I don't know why you would want a computer telling the rear wheels to turn... unless maybe you autocross... apparently it does wonders for handling on the RWD platform.

RWD takes you back to old muscle car fun with power slides, smokey burnouts, and unneccessary doughnuts... high horse power or not. Juvinile as it may sound, I will always have fun watching/doing stuff like that. (in a controled environment... of course)

... I jumped off topic.
No HICAS for me.
