Wink to buy or not to buy OF COURSE TO BUY!!!

gonna be purchasing a 1989 240sx fastback from a friend soon not paying over a thousand was gonna offer her around 500-700, the engine has close to 170,00 miles on it I think, she has blown the head gasket and there is a problem with the head again but not sure what it is, gonna have to check in on that, the steering needs an alighnment done and the interior is in real good shape, and I've driven it several times but I think buying it for under 1,000 would be a steal, and oh yeah it has no body damage and it has an automatic tranny any advice would be appreciated

hey, jsut talked to the girl today and she said that the car has only 60,000 miles on it, and when she bought it it had very low miles, which means the last three years she has had the car it's been driven alot and pretty hard, cause there is something wrong with the head, it won't keep and water or oil in it which means it could just be the head gasket or the head might just be warped, but now she is asking 1,200 and I just ain't got that much money, but my dad might be helpin me out but he said he wasn't gonna let me pay 1,200 for it, but if we can get it for around 500 then it's mine!!!yayyyyy, cause I can always rebuild the topend myself and I'd have a kick *** car until I saved up enough for an sr or either rebuild the ka all together

tell her the blue book is way low because of the problems. Don't pay 1200 or even 1000. i wouldn't give more than 600 for a car that can't run right with 170000 miles on it made in 1989.

ah good news good news!!!!! the girl called back again and all she wants for the sx is 550 bucks, and it's well worth that, everything is in really good shape and the whole car is tight no rattles or any problems at all, just the engine, so I am happy to say I will be purchasing it within a week or two woooooohooooooooo
