Hello all
Hello all
Hi guys, I was wondering around the net looking for 240 stuff, and I stumbled across your forums, it looked like there was a lot of info here, so I decided to join. First I guess a little background is in order, I am 24 finishing up college, in the NY Long Island area, I got my 95 240 about 2 1/2 years ago. I was desperate for a newer car since my last one was dying quickly (power steering died, starting to burn oil, didn't like to start) Unfortunately most of the 240s I saw were pretty beat up, or had had, their clocks turned back. I had originally wanted a 98 manual, but after several months of not being able to find any, and my current car was becoming more and more un drivable every day, when I found a 95 auto in pretty good condition, I hopped on it as quick as I could. I really miss driving manual more then I can explain, but at least I have a nice car that can get me back and forth from work.
I have been dreaming of a S15 engine swap, I have been researching it, I like the stock power ( not planning on ever changing engine from stock) and i like the idea of a six speed, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon because it looks like it would cost more then 10k to get it done right. For right now, I just really miss manual...........anyway that's my deal, I am looking foreword to good times in these forums! ! !

Just swap the tranny for now, it's well worth it
There will be a MAJOR improvement between A/T and M/T.
Once you master the KA, then it's time to upgrade.
There's a sticky part list in the drive train section
(parts you'll need for a tranny swap).
It's good, but I have a more detailed one (part numbers, vendors and cost) so you can get a better idea. Although a lot of the vendors are locate to me (SoCal).
If you need it, just let me know.
Good luck with your plans.

Hi. Auto is best for crusing and for the laziness. I guess thats why my car is not stick yet. Dammit.
6 speed on a KA is pointless.
Just love the car and the car will love you.

Welcome n stuff.
Oddly enough, I was too lazy/under-skilled/under-spaced/under-tooled to do an auto -> 5spd conversion, so I spent more time (and possibly more money) hunting around until I found a 5spd.

I wish I had had that luxury when I bought my car, I tried for almost 6 months to find a 240sx in my area that was in good condition that was manual, none could be had..........even now when I look on line or in the papers there is nothing, and I was willing to travel several states over if Icould find one, unfortunatly like I said my previous car died, so I bought the 95 auto
