Yeah the focus is going to my dad and as part of the deal he's chipping in on the 240. The cash for the engine is really no problem for me though, the complexity of installing it isn't a problem either because I'm planning on getting it professionally done. It's basically because I have no place to do the work myself. A big concern is what the horsepower capacity for the internals are. I know the tranny will need to be replaced at a certain point. My main question is what are the differences in horsepower capacities on the different SR20DET engines.

The SR swap is impossible, just impossible, think about all the fabrication and there is no one else that has ever done it. Your on your own 100%.

My suggestion would be to search the boards. There is a lot of information on what to look for in a car, especially a 240. As far as year wise, thats going to be up to you. Typically the older they are, the more wear-and-tear items need to be replaced on them...just be sure to choose wisely based on what you want.

^^^^ +1 to that

but yeah man, id focus on learning the ins and outs of your future 240. Suspension and other chassis modifications should be "TOP SHELF" ya know..

Sr20's are nice, ive heard personally Ca18det is a strong motor, im going that route.

oh and welcome

KA-T > ALL!

ROFLOL, just kidding!!

Everything that Initial Daniel and Zenki have said is 100 percent true. Just keep reading and remember that there are a LOT of knowledgeable people on this forum and, from what I've seen, they are MORE than willing to help when you need it.

Welcome to the forums and enjoy your stay, there's a lot of . . . .hmmm . . .interesting (there's a euphemism if I've ever heard one) things to read here.
