Hello everyone, I'm new here.
Yeah the focus is going to my dad and as part of the deal he's chipping in on the 240. The cash for the engine is really no problem for me though, the complexity of installing it isn't a problem either because I'm planning on getting it professionally done. It's basically because I have no place to do the work myself. A big concern is what the horsepower capacity for the internals are. I know the tranny will need to be replaced at a certain point. My main question is what are the differences in horsepower capacities on the different SR20DET engines.

im new here. my girlfriend purchased a 300zx recently and since ive been interested in the newer body style 240. im not in a position to buy a nice one but a reasonable 240 that has a great price would be good. i would like to also find out more about the car what to look for what years were better than others and where i can find some nice 240s

^^^^ +1 to that
but yeah man, id focus on learning the ins and outs of your future 240. Suspension and other chassis modifications should be "TOP SHELF" ya know..
Sr20's are nice, ive heard personally Ca18det is a strong motor, im going that route.
oh and welcome

KA-T > ALL!
ROFLOL, just kidding!!
Everything that Initial Daniel and Zenki have said is 100 percent true. Just keep reading and remember that there are a LOT of knowledgeable people on this forum and, from what I've seen, they are MORE than willing to help when you need it.
Welcome to the forums and enjoy your stay, there's a lot of . . . .hmmm . . .interesting (there's a euphemism if I've ever heard one) things to read here.
