Hey!

I'm fairly into neons on neons.org. Anyway, a guy on there is possibly selling his stock 240SX for 1500, with 164,000 miles on it. 5 speed, no rot, decent paint, decent motor, no ABS, Airbags, or HICAS. Sound like a good deal?

Just a couple things to ask, like, how hard is it to make it into a 14 second car? Just give me some feedback so I don't shoot myself in the foot.

EDIT: It's a 1991 for info.

$1500 is decent. If you have the $ you can go 14's, if that's your thing.

How much money would it be to go 14's all motor? I don't have alot of money, but I'd like to do everything right.

I do understand that for bang for your buck, weight reduction is where it's at, but what are some popular first mods?

Dont double post learn to edit.

that's a good price, 14's is going to cost you at least another $1500 whether you go turbo or all motor (unless you go nitrous). Turbo would be significantly easier I think. Neon should be cheaper to get 14's. 240's aren't very good drag cars. Popular first mods are the usual things~ wheels, suspension, exhaust stuff. Most ppl pick up 240's for the RWD and availability of after-market support + interchangeable parts within Nissan family... Welcome.

I know, if I put $1500 into the neon, I'd be well into the 14's, but most of it would be standalone computer, and tuning, because there isn't an aftermarket computer for it yet. The RWD though is interesting for me enough, I could probably make a serious Auto-X car for the money. The main purpose of this car is basically just a daily driver. But going fast always helps.

If 1500 can get you a 14 second time slip, then fix up the neon.

14's is not fast.

I had a 12 second CRX that was slow to.

If your going to make it your daily, then it should be comfortable.

Not gutted and what not.

You want power, KA na = weak. Get a turbo kit or SR thats the quickest most cost effiecient way.

You should have gotten the SRT-4 that Neon is cool.

I know I shoulda gotten an SRT-4, I'm still kicking myself. But, the insurance woulda been killer. I'll see what I'll do.

They are sick little cars. My friends dad has one. I was impressed.

Damn things sound evil when you change the exhaust.
