Hey.. introduction

Hey, well just recently i've started looking at the 240's... in particular the S13's. Until now I've been messing with 944's and was planning on doing a 944 turbo swap in my 944 n/a but have decided to nix on that in hopes of selling it and getting a cheap s13 and doing the infamous SR20DET swap. I know a lot of people are doing it but it seems to be a good base for a decent powerplant. A few questions I had...

how much should I be looking to spend on a 240 sx in california?

my dad is a mechanic and his dealership does smog cars..... is it impossible to get the SR motor smogged or am I going to have to figure something else out?

I've heard the head on the SR motor is a weak point... is this going to be a major problem with the motor as I start to modify it? I'm eventually looking to get it into the 12's.

What mods/combinations of mods do these motors respond to and what should I look at doing first.... I was thinking exhaust, turbo timer.. maybe injectors?

How long does the swap itself take? I'm pretty adept with cars and the 240 looks like a cake walk to work on compared to my 944. I've also built chevy v8's in the past and helped to install em.
