I am new to the 240sx world... need help

Hi everyone,

I am new to the 240sx world. I just bought a 91 240sx. I saw a stock amp in rear of the car right next to the speakers. The guy whom I bought the car of installed pioneed 140watts speakers to the car. I see that the speakers are connected to that stock amp. I am really new to the car stereos and but i want to put a small sub in there (8"-10") so that i can stack up on the base a little bit. Any suggestions if I should connect using the stock amp or get something else? Pls let me know... thanks

muha ha ha...there is a car audio forum here...i'm not trying to be a dick or nothing like that...its just that the new members section gets a lot more attention than the car audio section

but yes, you should throw (or pawn for 10 bucks) the old factory amp...and if your are going to get some subs then it is NOT recommened that you use the amp that is there...you need to be 2 amps really, a 4 channel amp for the speakers inside the car..and a 2 channel for the subs

totally agreed or get a 5 channel amp and just have one amp and save some weight. 4 channels power the interior and 1 channel for a sub.
