Just bought one
Whats up guys. I am the proud owner on a 1990 240sx with 173k. It's all orginal right down to the factory hubcaps and cassette player. I work at a Chevy dealership and I purchased it from an older female salesperson who used it as her commuter car, about 40 miles a day. The miles are all highway, and she maintained it through our dealership, so its been pretty well maintained. It had been sitting in her garage for a few months because she got a demo to drive and had no need for the 240. She drove it one day and smelled gas so she brought it in to be looked at. Two of the injectors were leaking and she didn't want to replace them because she wanted to get rid of the car. I bought it for 1000 bucks. I chaned the oil, tuned it up, replaced a leaking valve cover gasket, and just for kicks and giggles twisted and pressed down the leaky injectors. OMG! they quit leaking! I have put over 200 miles on the car with no gas smell and dry injectors. Sweet, that was an easy fix. I really like this car. Its as much fun as my 99 trans am! I have a question though; when I had the valve cover off I noticed the right side of the timing chain was a little loose. The left side was tight...is this normal? Should I replace it? I heard this is a major ordeal to do. What other maintance should I do? thanks guys.
