Let me look it up in the dictionary for you

so in "Drifting" you slide your car at high speed so you can corner better?

isn't that called rallying?

..this "drifting" sounds iffy and fake.
Show me a vid or two.

no, dat is not called rally...drifitng is used in rally when cornering to shave off speed and have a better corner exit, like in a hairpin...and drifting is used by racecar driver sot corner at highspeeds, it isnt the kind of drifting u have in ur mind though, they dunt have rediculous amount of angle through the turn, just enough to shave off enough speed and have a good corner exit without losing to much momentum, though u wont see anyone drifting in any endurance races since it causes extremely quick tire wear and excessive stress on suspension and drivetrain...

so you're telling me that in drifting I just take a corner really fast and slide?

..uhh..Isn't that Oversteer?

sounds stupid to me. Why would you purposely slide when you can just take a better line?

drifting sucks, from what it sounds like anyways.

OMG. Guys, get in a 240, put someone who knows how how to drift. choose a wet day. You'll ahve so much fun. Drifting really means oversteer. If you don't oversteer, you take the curve to big and slow. If you understeer, you loose control, you go into the outside of the curve and you'll have to slow down to recover. but if you Oversteer, you car slides, thus taking more curve. you can take the curve faster, and it looks and feels cooler since you're pointign one way, going the other. drifting is not pull you're E-brake and hope for the best thing. It got to be controled, its really hard to do when dry and good wheels. The speed changes the maxiums angle you can go according to you're grip value on the tires, add the temperature variable, + tire left, melting of tire, wind resistance, HP of the car, diferent revs, diferent gears to drift, diferent techniches, combinations. Its a really hard thign to do profesionally. Of course I drift when its wet, and so do toher 240 owners. But i'm no expert. you said you want videos? there's a section here 4 that. there's tons of them.
you want dvd? how about: Drifting101, JDM magazine videos, Drfit life in japan, Grip video1,2,3,etc. Know before you say opinions. Anyone can drive a car, less know how to shift a car, less know how to race right, few know the rights of cornering. and the very few who choose RWD over Honda actually know how to combine pedal, brake, timing and angle to really take a corner and make others say "Wow, he really know how to drift, i wish I could do that"

That's dangerous, reckless and sounds scary.

I'm not liking this drifting idea, I'd rather just drive normally, and not slide all over the place.
