new to the game.

hey everyone.

ive admired the 240sx and its japanese counterpart for good while now. soon i will have one of my own, my friend is selling me his 96 240sx se. i have been doing some basic investigations as to which companies sell what kits that include these and those parts.

for those that have done the 14.5 conversion, what body conversion kits do you recommend or suggest i stay away from?
(the extreme dimensions kit seems to be a pretty good deal)

also, what are good engine suppliers? until recently i have been focusing on an SR, but after browsing a few of the threads on here im learning that the RB engines can hold their own as well.

im sure most of this has been covered in previous threads but please bare with me as theres a lot of information on this board and at this point i dont know right from left in the small car world-for the past several years i have been driving a jeep cj7 on 35" tires... haha its quite the contrast.

thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum, first off you shoulda posted in the new members forum..not the general. When you say s14.5 you mean the S15 conversion right, not the kouki S14? Just making sure because some people think the S14.5 is the S14 with S15 front and other people think its the kouki S14..anyways dont buy from GTP!! Ive heard a couple bad stories of there fenders not fitting properly. Extreme is a good site and all, but i havent heard anything about there S15 conversion. There are a lot of good engine suppliers..we have gone over it a million and a half times..PLEASE try searching. Have fun and keep on postin

welcome to the boards. i haven't done too much research on the S15 conversion, myself. however, i've heard nothing but bad things about GTP's kit. seriously bad news. as for engine suppliers, like JynX said, there should be some threads here about it. if u don't find what ur looking for, don't sweat it. JynX (with a little colaborative effort from myself and drnovascotia) is formulating an FAQ which should include that info. if all else fails, pm me and i'll see if i can get u on the right track.

hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome.

after that post i kept browsing and found a few links to different suppliers, the quest is far from over though. i probably wont do everything to the car (its the zenki style, by the way, im planning on doing the s15 conversion) until feb. at the earliest, which leaves plenty of time to figure out exactly what im going to do.

yeah, it definately has the potential to suck a lot, but he is really amped about a wrx and his folks said they would get one by christmas, so its just a matter of (hopefully short) time.
