What's up everyone! I'm glad to be a new member of the forums. I'll probably be very active in the forums.

A Little Bit About Me.
I'm from the small town of Sweetwater, Texas. I'm 16 years old and currently attending Sweetwater High School. I work at TravelCenters of America as a partsman. Basically a truck driver comes in with a problem or needs a part for there truck and I advise them on what needs to be done or help them find a part.

My Car
I just recently got a red 1997 Nissan 240SX SE. It's all stock except a MagnaFlow Exhaust Kit. I'm currently saving up for a turbo kit and some random other mods. I bought it used with 130,000 miles on it. The car needs an alignment because it drifts to the right a little bit. It's also automatic, but once I get money saved up I might get a standard conversion, but that's a big might.

Hobbies
I love web designing. playing guitar and singing for my band, and mechanics. I'm still pretty new to mechanics, but I know basic stuff. I've already learned alot about 240SX's and plan to expand my knowledge with the forums.

I'm glad to be a new member to the forums, and please feel free to comment or message me.

Welcome to the site.

And OUCH.. 130,000 miles is a lot for a '97. For me it is, anyway.. lol.

Thanks for the greeting s13 240 and JessicaS14.

Yeah, 130K is a bit. I've been talking to some peeps and I think I might get a SR20DET engine swap. It'll cost a pretty penny, but it'll be worth it in my opinion.

sr is more reliable than a turbo KA in every way. i'd go that route if i were you for SURE. BTW convert it to 5 speed... you'll really love it then.

I'd love to convert it to 5-speed, but the amount of money needed to do that + saving up for the SR would be a terrible pain in the *** for my $5.75 an hour job....

If you know/have any ideas to make it more cost effective, please shoot em at me.

If your swapping just wait till your ready to do that, you'll more than likely get a 5spd SR unless you wanna stay auto...

When looking for a new engine, buy a front clip, it will have most parts that you will need for the swap as well as the manual swap, everything else you can either go junkyard or dealership or find someone parting out your car. Whenever you need more info check out our drivetrain section, theres several threads on manual transmission swaps.
