new to nissans

hi all,

i'm here to help my friend with getting either a s13 or s14, and later on doing a sr20 drop (not sure if s13 or s14 sr yet).

i currently drive an Evo, and i've had a dc2 gsr and an mkII mr2 turbo before...hope to get involved with Nissan and have lots of fun with a sr20'd 240 soon

anybody have any comments on whether to pick the s13/s14 chassis and/or either SR versions....just throw them out

to my understanding the s13 sr does not have variable timing whereas the s14 does. we'll most likely end up with an s14 chassis because IMHO it looks better and it's also a newer car (in terms of age of the chassis) not sure about getting the SE with LSD cuz that sounds like a PITA to find...but we'll see.

anyways, hope to learn a lot here. any other 240 forums u can recommend also let me know please. i'm already on sr20forums as well.

thanks for reading

go to zilvia and NICO as well. SE's are not hard to find, you just need to know where to look. If you want to do an SR20 swap in an S14, you will have to get a 1995 ONLY S14 as they went to OBDII for 1996. That is the only way it will pass emissions. I have heard that S13's have an understeer problem but I think it is just driver error. I am partial to S14's so I say get an S14. And look into other swaps. The SR20 is so overdone IMHO. Be different and do an RB25, RB26 (if you have mucho dinero), Dont mess with the VG30 as I heard they are a PITA. Or, just throw an LS1 in there and enjoy 300 hp and a ton of torque stock.

thanks for the advices

yea the RB's and LSx are too expensive. the sr20 is overdone, but as a result the aftermarket support is bigger and parts are easier to get....thought about the 2jz too but alas we're not made of money haha
