S13 Rb25det

Hey I'm new to nissan's. I just got an 89 S13, but it became to much of a project and i dont have the funds. So I'm looking for another 5spd S13 any year. What my plan for the car is an RB25DET swap for it. Could anyone give me some pointers, stuff to look out for, anything like that?

Thanks

Welcome! The biggest piece of advice that anybody can give you, is to research, research, research! Read EVERY sticky available, and read some more! There is a wealth of information floating around this site, I personally learn something new everytime I come on here.

Also, if funds are an issue, I doubt that an RB swap, or really any swap will be the practical decision for you, as every reliable swap I've read about took a lot of time and money to get there!

Reliability with power is really expensive. If you just want a car to cruise around in the street in and dont really plan on tracking your car then go ahead with the RB swap if you have the money. If you plan to track your car and are low on funds i suggest scraping the swap idea and concentrate on what you need and what would benefit you most at the track aka susp, tires, spare wheels, spare parts, brakes, saved money for when things happen that are out of your control, etc etc. I hate to see people that spend so much money on engine work for more power and when they want to track they find out they still arent ready. Find out what you really really want from the car and how much time/money you have to invest and we can give you all the advice you want on setups. Oh yeah and please please search, you will find anything you need to know that way.

...You should drive/track your car stock first; just to get use to it...wreck on that engine...then put in your RB...
