SAFC 2 SR20DET settings...HELP!!!

okay guys, i don't want to hear anything about how crappy the SAFC is, how worthless it is, how i NEED a wide band, blah blah, i got it, it came with the car, so now i want to tweak it, or at least get it right.... oh, and i have searched and there's really not much on this, at least in depth of what i need...

so i have the SAFC,and no wide band, I'm not really seeking to tune with it, just to get a base settings that maybe someone else has...

my current fuel/air etc set up on the car is..

Stock MAF
Stock 370cc injectors
APEXi super intake filter/elbow
FMIC
Walboro 255
APEXi 3" full exhaust (not sure if that matters or not)

the question is, what would/do you guys have set with similar mods... i have an issue of when i hold it over a certain RPM it gets really rich, bogs down, and smokes out the back a bit... like say i hold it at around 4500rpm it studders.... i know what ya might be thinking "check your MAF!!" but i know it works fine so i'm sure it's something to do with the fuel curves set on the SAFC..

i could just disconnect it, but i like the feature on monitor mode that shows RPM, voltage, throttle %, and AFL % (which strangly, i think, enough, drops below 2.0% under load/mashed gas pedal)... i'd like to maintain the monitor features, without having to worry bout running lean, rich, and blowing up my investment...

as a side note, i'm completly new to "tuning" and what all the "NE", "DEC" stuff means, so take it easy on me... what i'm really hoping for it for someone to post all thier settings for me to enter into mine..

so if any of you guys, in your infinite knowledge can give me a hand, it would be greatly appreciated

Honestly, not trying to bring you down, but someone else's settings will not work on your set up. EVERYONE'S car is different.
and not trying to bring you even more down, but there is no way to set a base without a wideband. my suggestion is just get the 02 bung, and then ask locals if they have a wideband you can hook up and use for a couple hours, just to get the base tune that your car needs.

+1

things such as

-plug gapping
-condition of engine
-grounds
-fuel type

etc etc

you can't take someone settings and you need wideband.. its just that simple man, I dont want to set you up for failure.

you can get the SAFC manual from APEXi and it explains what Decel setting are.

Ill just tell you that DEC is the amount of fuel injected when the throttle is lifted.

honestly with that setup.. you dont need anything,,, thats stock

stock except for the walboro, which flow alot more than OE...

mostly all i want it for is for the monitoring, which i know is stupid cause i have the gauges for it, but think form over function if you will.... i like it sitting on my dash...

i was mostly wondering if it was plug and play, cause i would like to not have a "tune" on it, just kinda have everything set at Zero if you will...

yes the pump is aftermarket but your injectors will not flow any more than it already could do without the 255 pump.

if the safc is hooked up correctly, it has to be set in accordance to your MAf and ECU ( Example: 2 IN 5 OUT). If you just want the rpms and throttle function, just hook those points up on the ecu and nothing else.

well im not sure on the SAFC but with my Apexi boost controller (looks like the SAFC) i can turn the controller setting off so it wont do anything just work on the actuator alone but im able to still see the readings.

what im saying look at the manual at the Apexi website it might tell you a way how to disable it and let the car run on the stock computer alone but still be able to see the readings

i was wondering about the default settings.... that was part of the ???? i was asking in the OP, that if the default on the SAFC would screw with the stock ECU, or if i had to modify the SAFC "tune" to match with whatever motor i had... hence why i was asking for other peoples setups...

will the default setting screw with anything??

-map, hotwire etc
-fuel maps

all that must be configured. its a fuel/air controller
