engine swap help yo!!!!

pretty much tomorrow we are gonna get a new engine for my friend now this guy said it might have a "timing issue" and were both not really sure if there even is a problem with it. due to this guy had like 4 240sx and one had a timing issue, now is there an easy way to check if the crank is lined up with the cams right or even an easy way to check it

and if not is there and easy way to put the crank a tdc and then line the cams up acording

i have looked on google and a couple other forums and we dont know how to check without dissasembling half of the engine
