LSD installation

I know there was a recent thread about the best LSD for 240's but this is a little different question. I've pretty much decided to get a clutch-type 2way diff. I'm not sure on the brand yet, but they seem to be $700-1000. I can do some basic stuff, but I doubt my abilities in installing this myself. I asked some guys at a performance shop about doing the install. They mostly work with off-road vehicles, but some of my import buddies are friends with them too, so I trust them. Anyways, he said it'd probably be around $425 for a complete install; or maybe $300 if I brought in the housing and he just did it from that point. Does this sound like a decent deal?

Also if anyone has any pros and cons of certain clutch type diffs, let me know!

when you say he'll do it for 300 if you bring in the diff...does that mean after you loaded the carrier?
i say do it your self.
download the FSM online and get busy.
then jack the car up and man-handle that badboy in there
i never pay for work.
NEVER
i can do it all....and trust me this job is gona be all muscle.
on a stock diff there is the diff,4 shims, ring gear, ring gear bolts, and the caps to hold the diff in...
that's it.
instalation is the reverse of removal.

I paid $325 for the install of new bearings, seals, shims and lsd. It was worth it to me. I work 7 days a week and getting time to do it myself is not going to happen.
