Panels aftermarket or OEM?

Hey guys I'm seriously getting sick of looking at the dent on my front right fender so in the next couple of days i'm going do something about it.

I know there's an aftermarket panel dealer that offers new panels at relatively cheap prices (123 w/tax for the fender I crunched). I was wondering should I trust those to fit right or should I go with Nissan parts and if so how much more am I going to pay for it?

Thanks for the tip.

i've priced the fenders b4 and there was;nt that much difference between them $180 for the aftermarket and 200 for nissan's IMO i'd go w/ nissans.

P.S i get tem wholesale at both locations and that's CDN $

Must be nice! I got 264 w/o tax for Nissan OEM and 123 WITH tax for aftermarket as you can see the difference is enough to make you wonder.

(all prices in us dollars only )

Suggestions as always are appreciated.

Peace

That's a big price difference where you're at. When it comes to body panels, IMO you get what you pay for. I'd go with OEM myself, but it's your budget.

Hey I wouldn't worry about aftermarket body panels. When I got into an accident the people redid my front end with an aftermarket bumper,OEM style, and an aftermarket hood, OEM style. It looks great. I didn't have any problems with fitment or anything. That's just my 2cents.

Alot of the OEM knockoffs are poor quality and don't fit well, I've had much better luck with junkyard parts and JDM parts. That price is expensive, I just did the silvia front end and I'd sell you my whole front end for $200.

oh yeah, the aftermarket parts like fiberglass fenders, bumpers, and hoods.....stay away they fit like crap. One of our customers had all these parts put on his car and the curves don't line up on the hood and fenders, and the bumper is too narrow and the headlights interfere with the inner corners Maybe the best quality like VIS or something would be ok tho.

Not all fit like crap, just the "$300 for a full kit" Ebay specials most likely... I mean, I've never seen a bad fitting C-West kit - but I have seen a bad fitting VIS more than once

If u have enough money,go for a OEM fender! I went to my firends body shop few times, they replaced tons of fenders, hoods, and bumper! OEM and aftermarket are made of different mertrial most of time! If u try knock on the OEM, and aftermarket fenders, they give ur different sound! OEM a lot of stronger than aftermarket! More likely, aftermarket will get rock chip very easy! If u want to save money, I will suggest to pick one OEM from juck yard, but you will spend more time work on that fender! Therefore, if u spend more, u get the quality and save some time, if u spend less, u need to spend more time! Good luck!

If you have a few junkyard sites by your area i would be patient and give myself a time limit and try to find a 240 with a fender in your judgement of conditions. its oem And at budget

dude. you're in houston. i got a new hood & seat for my s-13 for $50 from a junk yard. plus if you call one they put it out on the network. so you don' have to call em all. don' bother w/ a 'new pannel' just go there. there's also BAP in houston, as well as http://www.lightspeedperformance.cc
that's on 1960 just for 240's/300zx's.
