can't decide which exhaust to get

I'm doing an SR swap as soon as i gather all the bolt-ons needed to finish it correctly. A kid that lives near me has an S13 sr with a blitz nur-spec exhaust. I really dont like the way it sounds, i'm looking for a much deeper, quieter tone. Just wondering if anyone has had the chance to hear either the HKS hipower, apex N1, or GTspec on an SR; and what the difference is in the sound they put out. Remember, I'm trying to build a quiet monster.

n1's sound great, i have one on my 89 , it gives kinda a deep roar sound, no raspy-ness my n1 catback was 500 wiith shipping and installation included, i have the single , duals are a bit more expensive , you will be very pleased with an n1 i promise

I've got the Borla Cat-back system installed and love it. It's got the perfect rumble IMO (personal preference) and not loud at all (*AHEM* josh), unless you're at WOT but at that time i don't think anyone cares about loudness. The dual tips look very stock as well (again, personal preference) so you won't look like a ricer. heheh

What sold me were the reviews I read about it. You can check them out on **********. It is one of the FEW systems that is ALL stainless steel (2.25 piping). Some units have just stainless mufflers and tips. The reason I had to replace my exhaust was cuz everything just rotted to crap so I figure do it right with stainless steel. You also can't beat the million mile warranty.

Performance wise, I can't really compare to other aftermarket systems b/c I've never owned them. And I've no access to dynos but my ass does sense overall better engine response. But don't expect miracles with just an exhaust system. :spin:

Not *JUST* a cat back though?

What the hell do you want? You can't even get an Apex'i plus a header for less than $500... the Blitz alone is $500+

rudeboy 12-13-2002 08:21 AM

unless you like to buy CRAP

wushu4u 12-13-2002 11:30 AM

I think he was confused and thought that axle back was the same as catback.
