ssac manifold ( my experience)

well I got another manifold in an attempt to install my larger turbo which didnt work as you know.... i left the new log manifold on

however this has given me the chance to check out my ssac manifold which i have been beating up since Aug06 and its in great shape despite the oil and dirt from my turbo leak/elements

shows that the flange is a good cnc job and seals

the brace reduced vibration and set the tone for a better affordable manifold

Guys were breaking the wastegate off because they forgot to place this ring inside of the wastegate and vibration caused it to shatter off

very tight seal with ring insert

how could you stand to drive a car with an exhaust leak that bad?! the side of the head tells the tale.

i highly recommend taking the manifold to a cylinder head shop and have them deck the mating surface of it to ensure its flat and not warped.

number 4 was leaking pretty good and #2 was on its way

thats alot of carbon. either you have a wicked leak or no wastegate dumptube.

i have dump tube only and i didn't have a tube on the wastegate....

the carbon that you see on the flange was there becuase i had a blown gasket at one point.

im not using this manifold again.. i was just letting guys know its nothing wrong with those manifolds.. the issue comes when you are trying to run crazy boost on them.

Spirited driving will do that sometimes...haha. What kind of waste gate do you have, and what turbo setup?

Out of curiosity what manifold and turbo are you going with? It's doesn't look like you're running a built KA(looks can be decieving), also what kind of management do you run?

Ill be running an H1C turbo

my ka is not built, but its very young and has been taken care of. i just backed my timing off to 15*. I have an stock ecu, N60 Maf and sr 370cc injectors that i smoothed out with an safc and it runs good. no misfiring no breaking up. although i dont care for drag much, i turned an 13.7 at 6-8 psi.

My thing is to keep it simple and dont back your self into a corner that you cant get out of easily.
