TEIN HE Review
JUst recently purchased my TEIN HE but was a little hesitant at first to put them in because of the HARSH ride people claim.
Before i bought them i did a search and tried to find out on how bad this ride would be but didn't really get a good answer, here is my answer.
Installation=overall pretty easyjust take out the tire and unbolt all the nuts that connect to the struts and brake assembly in front, rear is even easier same thing except just 3 nuts, don't really want to get into the details of this.
performance and handling= instructions, i read that at the first setting it is at maximum stiffness and that you drop it 12 clicks back to put it at a setting at 4 front 4 rear(1 being soft 16 being hardest). I drove this around and immediately realized that it was very bouncy, i mean like give me a headache bouncy, i would usually just suffer and bear it but this was TOO much. I looked not for the smooth roads, but the bumpy residential roads, and it was seriously just too much to be daily driving at that setting. However when i did take turns, it was as if i was driving straight meaning no body roll. I was very upset with this setting and decided to put the front at 10 and rear at 10. This new setting was GREAT!!! Bouncing around was cut down to a minimum. If you have driven a lowered car before with some decent coilvers say Ground Control) it will equal this type of feeling, HOWEVER the cornering and aggressive driving is greatly improved. NO BODYROLL what so ever. I hit 90 degree turns and it feels like im just driving straight apart from the excessive steering. Can't really comment on drifting because im not at that level, but i can say that from the aggresive driving that i have been doing these coilovers really do make the car more predictable and definetly better handling and attacking the turns. For daily driving If you can get use to feeling the occasional bumps and avoiding the potholes then you will do fine. My wife is also really picky about how bouncy the car gets, even she commented that it's not that bad. IT's very livable and actually makes you want to drive your car more. BOTTOMLINE: If you want to do it right the first time and plan on drifting as well as driving to and from work, then get these coilovers. BTW i drive a 1990 240 fastback if that helps.

I was afraid about this also but Ive had mine on for 3 weeks and love it the only down side is that I auto-X and unfortunetly I DRIFT all over the place, Ive been threatened to be kicked out because of this. I truly love these and think there still better then what I had on my GSR (Weapon-R) yes they sucked.

And to be honest, the HE's handle the mountains as well no sweat
