changing moonroof

I was curious if anyone knew if you could buy a moonroof that replaced the glass one that was made out of something like maybe fiberglass or possibly even carbon.

It wouldnt have any other purpose other than looks and being different. It would kinda set off the carbon hood.

A company that makes like custom carbon parts could possbily make it and use the stock seal and locking mechanism. Carbon Creations or Carbon by Design possibly.

Just seeing if anyone has any ideas

I remember seeing it somewhere replaced with lexan, which is the common material of choice to use when replacing windows with lighter alternatives. The removal of a large piece of heavy glass from the highest point on the car would definitely have a functional purpose. It lowers the center of gravity of the car and makes it more agile.

Thanks timeless for the info. I'll check into it. If you had lexan the same size you could some how use the old latches and seal and it seems as if it would work basically the same...jus lighter
