How to??

how you remove the sound denting plates...the hard rubber looking plates...i tired to use a chizle and a hammer but it's not working...any ideas??

they're like big black plates its used to help lower sound that comes in from the outside

dry ice and then chisel it off, heat gun and then try, my friend used just a hammer and chisel and got it out but it took him forever

I plan to do this. How long does this take and how much weight doesn't it remove?

not really... dry ice and ice + a hammer are the best ways... probably 10-20 pounds i guess

Holy crap that looks like it took days to finish. Great job! Wanna do mines =). Do you know by any chance if those paint thinner will help loosen it?

it wont loosen it, but it would help get the small pieces left behind off. I used a hammer and chisel, then i took WD-40 and a wire brush to get the small chunks and bits of tar left behind..
