I don't know if this will help, but I also have a nissan xterra and i don't like the doors, so i went and bought some katskin leather and reupholstered my doors, i got a step by step, i removed the old fabric and put new down, i might do that to my 240 but just leave it bare, it still looks good, heres a link, i have a yellow xterra, yellow/charcoal seats and yellow door trim, check it out:
