Kouki blackout

Has anyone tried painting the interior of the Kouki headlights black? (Kinda like blackout, but the chrome parts are black) I've seen posts alluding to it, but I've never seen a specific reference to any painted kouki headlights or any pics.

I was plannin on doing this to my headlights too but I've got a zenki. I actually have a whole thread on it at www.nissanforums.com. Its in the S14 section under "Smoked Headlights" Its almost at the end of the section. http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.p...showpage&pid=52
Here is a link of how to do it but on a Maxima. But I would recommend going lower that when "baking" your headlights. Probably like 170 at first and move it up if it isnt warming it up good enough. And most of all make sure to take your time so you dont break the lense.

I baked, took apart, blackedout, rebaked and put them back together on my altima headlights. Im sure doing taillights wouldnt be much different.

I've been wondering this same question and I finally found what I was looking for. This is actually a thread about a turbo kit but there is a pic of the exterior. Probably the same thing you were looking for too.

looks damn good IMO

i painted the top and bottom parts with black ENGINE ENAMEL.. make sure you get that kind cuz damn.. it gets mighty hot up in there

edit:
i also color matched the corner lights cuz damn.. it was to 'white' to match my car color and the darkened headlights

I'll be doing mine this next week (Spring Break). I'll take pics of before and after to show the contrast. I'll be using gunmetal wheel paint which also holds up well to the heat.
