Maco?
I planed on getting a new paint job for my 95 240 and wanted to shop around for the best place to dew it at. The main reason i need to get the paint job is due to the fact that i have two dents (i can fix myself), but paint is mo complicated. I have heard good and bad things about maco.
Any opinions and does anyone know of any dew it yourself kits (including clear coat).

Ive had paint jobs done by maco....all i can say is...its a nice paint job for the money...dont plan for it to be a show car with it though...just when you get it done wax it a few times and it looks nice....not the strongest paint job either..

macco is a ****ty paint job. I mean if you are looking at selling your car or something then it is good. They use ****ty paints and don't put enough clear coat on and therefore the paint only lasts about 1 or 2 years 3 if you take real good care of it. You get what you pay for. My dad used macco before he turned his leased car in cause it had dents and scratches and it ended up saving him some money. I would never use macco if I planned on keeping the car and being that your car is a 95 I would not recommend it unless you are only looking for a cheap paint job.

Thanks for the feed back Kaos. I definately do not plan on selling my car anytime soon, there are too many things i want to do to it. The only reaseon i would sell my car would possibly be for a 98 240, I think they look mo agressive than the 95
I have heard some good things about Maco, I am gonna get an estimate on my stuff soon so I can go and get it done. Only thing I heard that you really should do is prep your car. I heard Maco doesn't do a good job of prepping.
I am gonna take a bunch of small dings out with bondo and also do most of the prep myself. As far as the door jams I figure I will just get a paint that looks similar and do them myself so its close.

I have also heard things about them not doing decent prep work. I planed on sanding the car down myself and even applying primer. Yesterday i found out one of my friends is the body maintenance guy at maco and he says that he will do a nice job on my car for a decent price. I have seen some of his work and it is rather acceptable.

They came recommended to me by a friend of the family that does body work for a living. So I think I may probably do my pain through them and just do all the prep I can myself and pain the door jams and engine bay with a spray paint of similar color.
I got my 240sx done at Maaco. They did a good job for a cheap price. But if you are looking for a show car, I would also pay the extra money for better paint job. My parents said they would pay for this paint job so I said "sure". Eventually I want a better paint job, only cause they did not use clear coat, and I like the real shiny look. But they don't do sh*tty jobs....if the paint does chip there is a 2 yr guarantee that they will fix it for free. So just all depends on what you want. Goodluck with whatever you choose.
