This is what I do for a living. I work for the company that has taken over this site....Boost Labs. However, the skyline was my first high dollar car and I was able to purchase that with some keen investing and purchasing the car at the right price. I also had a heavily modified MR2 before that. I have been working in the auto aftermarket industry ever since buying the skyline, so I have been able to build these cars myself at a fraction of what they would cost most people. I also do all my own work with the exception of paint and body and the SR swap in the miata in which I received a lot of help from a coworker at the time(martin, currently of XAT).

I will be personally doing a lot of work on the Club240 car, but this will be a team effort. Here is another shot where the car is now at Durdan Perfab who will be a vendor on this site. The shop is loaded down with JDM used goodies from JDM Market including all those wheels

yea man. working in performance shops are fun. i worked in one for about a year before the military. you come into contact with many problems at times but when its all done... you learn Alot and it makes you a stronger mechanic..

however working on others cars for me just was not fun becuase I have seen partners put their all into a customer car and the customer goes and screw the car up and then spreads bad rumors about your shop etc... i would have to say my favorite swap was 1j/2j hybrid into an MKIII supra where i performed all the wiring etc to it.

Yeah, I defintely agree with you on that. Alot of customers spread bad things about shops, when they are not the ones to blame. But there also shops who do some poor work, but it all depends which technician is working that day.

What is your prior experience Biggame, are you formally trained as a mechanic?
I would love to work at a performance shop and help but also learn more.

na i just began working on cars about 7 or 8 years ago.. and it grew bigger and bigger until i was tackling big projects. its funny becuase im Microsoft certified and i could be ASE certified if wanted,,, but im not looking to open a shop, just work on my car and buddies cars and save money and enjoy driving a car that you built with your own hands.

Man! How do you start working for a company like that...? I'd love to do something like that, even if it's on the admin side of things. How did you start? I'm really interested in following in your footsteps now! Haha!
