buy a new good condition shell and swap everything over

clubredsilvia 06-23-2007 08:23 AM

^^^ ummm... worst idea ever?
-*THEORETICALLY* even if i only charged myself 5 wumbo dollars for each hour of labor for the "shell swap" i would save about 1000 by paying someone 100 wumbo dollars per hour to reweld floor-pans and rhino line. Not to mention that you actually still have to buy the shell.

You have a good point except for this
Attachment 22098
That still has to be fixed.
I have access to a welder so I may do the floor panels myself, or I may just use rivets. The collision damage on the chassis was repaired very well so I suppose that doesn't concern me.

Car looks good man, but it needs more low! As for the car situation, I think it would be best if you sold that 240 and got yourself another one so it doesn't bite you later on(again).

NiSmO Knight 06-25-2007 08:01 PM

350 was for some real hard core lining tho. the floor of the bed itself was about 1/4 in thick, side walls were gonna be 1/8 thick. stuffs really good and worth the money.

But yeah, Id say get a new chassis and save time. Honestly, thats a lot of work on the rust and body work.

silviaks2nr 06-25-2007 08:49 PM

it's getting hard to find a good shell these days. I would really see what you can fix yourself. the rear quarters could be covered up with some overfenders if you want an easy fix for that dent.

I see you have the tissues in the background to masturbate to your car when it's all finished. I'm hoping to see the progress on it though...good luck man, keep us freakin' updated!

And yes that is what you think it is, the coveted 300ZX TWIN TURBO , yes TWIN TURBO fuel filter. I also put on some Energy Suspension sway bar end links today, along with a new O2 sensor. I'm pretty sure the one that was in there was the original one. A new cap and rotor and new NGK spark plugs are waiting to go in, but first I need new plug wires. Any suggestions for good wires?

RuizXIII 06-27-2007 05:00 AM

Janking it to cars, priceless!
300CHP Fuel Filter install awesome

jramosthe1st! 06-27-2007 06:23 AM
