Question s14 aftermarket steeringwheel

Anyone know if all 89 to 98 share the same aftermarket steeringwheel hub or s14s different from older ones. Gonna buy one and just want to make sure cause ebay and shops post them as all the same. Anyone thats experienced this situation please help out here.

First off, this has nothing to do with a vehicle being N/A so why would you post it here? Moved to Style.

Secondly, I believe you will need one specifically for the s14 due to it having airbags. The s13 one might bolt on no problem, but hubs made for s14's usually have something to bypass the airbags which keeps the airbag light off

Sorry if it's in the wrong place, was in n/a reading then just posted with out thinking of style(newbie to posting and newbie to this place). So when you say bypass does that mean a fake plug that sends a fake message to the ecu saying airbag is still on? From my experience I've never seen a hub that specific for airbag cars, it was either keep it on or take your risk and take out for the aftermarket one. Also the hub turns so I can't think of easy way for a type of bypass your talking about, but I have'nt been keepin up with car technology but if you have anymore info on the bypass or any other type of adapter I will need please let me know cause I want to do it right so I put it all together one day instead of finding out I need another little part that cost a hundred bucks before I could put a simple steeringwheel on.

Thats what I'm saying too but s13 240 up there mention something I've never heard before thats why I'm like what is he talking about bypass for. I gives a crap about the airbag thats why I want a aftermarket wheel so don't need no bypass or what ever, just need a hub or any additional adapter if needed. I'm just gonna disconnect the plug, at least thats all I had to do with honda and acuras.

S13 hub will fit but if you have an S14 then buy an S14 hub. They're the same price.

As for the airbag, Some S14 hubs come with a circuit that you plug into the airbag harness when you remove your factory steering wheel. The circuit allows the passenger side airbag to remain fully functional. I know Nismo's hub has this; never saw the HKB example s13 240 linked above until now though.

I heard somewhere, don't remember where, but someone told me that it is illegal to take your airbag out without replacing it. Is this true or is it perfectly legal to remove your airbag?

most states/cities it is illegal to remove an airbag out of a motor vehicle that came equipped with one standard.

You do if you want the passenger airbag to still function.

And learn how to spell "does".

Thanks s13 240 and 12aine for the deeper info on hubs, that circuit is good thing to have if it gets rid of the annoying flashing red light. I'll be looking around for that option along with the hub unless it's too expensive, maybe if like under fourty five dollars all together or like under twelve bucks for the circuit itself. I'm talking boss hub or something cheaper, not the momo stuff cause I'm broke as hell now. I had a momo on my 99 turbo si a couple of years ago for eighty five bucks.
Forgot to add that my airbag light and check engine has been on since I bought the car like ten months ago anyways so I'm use to the lights being on but it be good to have the passenger air bag workin so incase someone rides with you and somethin happens.

Mmo hub is only like $55-60. The circuit adds $ (The Nismo hub IIRC was like $100ish) but if that airbag light is annoying just pull the airbag ECU, since it won't be functional after switching steering wheels
