common on alot of older euro track cars, yes it's to protect the lense from road debris, so if it cracks the lense will not fall on the track (it just looks so damn cool too)

what kind of tape do they use. because i dont think an x of tape on the lense is going to protect the whole light from falling apart or to pieces

test it out, tape off your headlights, take a bat to them to simulate track conditions and see how they hold up

i wouldn't do it unless you have glass headlights, no real purpose other than cool factor. electrical tape will work fine. try to shrink your sig too its really big

wELL THE GOOD PART IS THAT THE TAPE DOES WORK. THE BAD PART IS THAT I HAVE TO GET NEW HEAD LIGHTS.

When you take your car to a track a lot of times it is recommended. It keeps your lights from shattering outward and getting glass on the track. Also in 24 hour races when they will be driving at night, in the daytime they tape them up with padding under the tape to make sure the lights will not break before they get to the night time racing.
