you could get some vinyl from walmart and use the old fabric as a stencil if youre that concerned about the holes. reattach the vinyl using a glue spray.

I never even used a hair dryer...I just peeled it off and it came out fine, no residue at all...

I don't know what color your guys carpet is but I don't think my black and grey looks that bad.

I just did this to my already messed up driverside door panel. I'm looking for another one so I was just experimenting. I came up with an idea though. I think after you peel the carpet off you then could cut that section out of the door panel. Get some spray glue and put it on their. Then you could make sure your vinyl is good in the middle and then let that dry. After that take and pull it tight and either staple or glue the rest of it so it's nice and tight. Put the section you just did back on the door---it will hold because of the screw in the door cup grabber thing. Then all that's left is to pop the rest of the panel onto the door.

Yeah same deal i just pealed it i had to get an exacto knife so i could get into the crevice and then slowly pull it all off but i didnt use anything took me about 10 mins for both doors and it turned out fine a little glue residue took it off with goo gone and i was happy with it.

that crap is fugly. i have some vinyl to re do it that 's been sittting in my crib for 3 months now. (i've been really lazy about this one)
