update 7/31/06

***update 7/31/06***

so i did a bit of painting today.

i cleaned the front timing chain cover:

but that would boring to leave it that raw metal so i masked off where the gaskets go:

then laid on the gold 500 degree paint

engine should be in next week when my stage 1 hybrid ka cam (Intake 270 duration, .443" Lift
Exhaust 272 duration, .448" Lift) and OEM style gasket set come in.

man, do you have any advice on painting the front bumper? i have the same one and sanding it is a big hassle.

scotch pads are good for getting in those tight spots, use spot/glaze putty for any minor rockchips in it, use 320-500 grit for the final sanding before the primer, then once primer is down use 800-100 wetsand paper.

Then lay the paint evenly from one side to the other, the once it's all dried up and covered evenly, lay the clearcoat on thick and once it's dry use 1500-2000 grit and wetsand it, it'll look like glass aslong as you get the chips out.

so yea ive been doing a lot of stuff.

got a new window, cleaned car, painted wheels, and RON hella fixed my quarter panel. thanks thanks. other than that its little **** like cleaning the engine blah blah.

and i got this done:



probably the coolest part on my car.

and i will be making more supar flushu bulb kovar. under the name of:

did you use a handheld grinder or something? and what are the name of the black wheels with chrome lip. i want those so bad, lol.

yea i used a grinder, metal file, power sander, sanding block to get it down like that, took me about 3 days. as for the wheels they are bronze and im not sure about the brand. all i know is they are american.

ok, so after seein black interior, gold wheels, pink wheels, black valve cover, and gold timing chain cover, what exactly color scheme are you going for? what is going to be the color of the car when all is done?

haha, ok: white exterior w/ black roof, engine bay, fender flares and lip; all gold wheels up front and bronze w/ polished lip in the rear; dark green interior; gold front cover and head, silver block and oil pan, black valve cover.
