Ur Polished Valve Cover!!??

Figured I would just throw this out there for everyone, i kinda stumbled onto this while i was takin off some paint a salvage yard put on the valve cover:this is for all u idiots who spend hours poilishing your valve cover. If wou want the look, get some paint STRIPPER and put it on your valve cover. It is some really volatile stuff so wear some gloves or your skin will start to burn. Let it sit for a while then take steel wool and start scrubbin off the anodized finish. It leaves it a little discolored so just run a disc over it real fast and it gives it that circular hand polished look. This only really takes 30 minutes or so. For the lettering use a steel brush with the paint stripper, it'll work like a charm.

I don't have anywhere to host a pic but like i said you should probably go over it real quick with a brush wheel just to get out any of the distortion on the outer surface

it is anodized aluminum, they put the finish on it so it doesn't turn white with aluminum rust. funny thing, i have polished and black lettering :P

just for the sake of those so-called "idiots" who actually spend time on their cars rather than take the quickie lazy route (cough)-

- don't do this without pulling the cover off the engine first.

BTW aircraft stripper > paint stripper... and hot girl stripper > the other strippers.

lol i got the hint, just sayin that there is a much easier way to do a cosmetic change so you can work on the engine itself, instead of using ur time on something that just changes looks, and it really does help get everything off the lettering. And when it comes to polishing it do what he^^^^ said and take it off
