Brakes

I was wondering, since the ABS feature is an option for the s13. Is it better to find a s13 with ABS or without ABS. If without ABS what upgrade to the brake can you do?

you can upgrade to 300ZX brakes, a very commonly done mod. Some people like ABS, I do not. Thats a preference.

There are lots of options when upgrading brakes..u can go all out and do a rotora/brembo big brake upgrade (2k at least) or go for a Z32/R32 brake conversion (around 1k-1.5k) Or just upgrade ur lines..rotors and pads for pretty cheap. Do a lil research on all of them to see wuts best for u

i read a review (maybe at edmunds.com?) that stated that the ABS system as found in some S13's is quite primitive, and less likely to be very helpful. ***k it, i dunno, research it!

wel wouldn't that make it like the Hicas LSD? Primative, however still works well. Still better than no ABS depending on the person. Myself, i'd rather have full control, heh.

I don't get what zip ties have to do with ABS brakes, but ok

I researched and found that the z32 will cost about 952(pdm). Right? I think rotora big brake kit is 2166. If im not mistaken that is only for the fornt right? So what could I do with the back?

There are sum places that sell the rear brake Z32 conversion as well. REMEMBER this, u will need bigger rims and certain ones becuase the caliper is a lil bigger then usual. dunno if that made sense but yea..

I'd say it depends on what you'r eplanning to do with the car. Drift? Drag? Grocery shopping? Teen driver education?

Rotora is overkill but WOW makes me drool

front z32 conversion is about 500 buckers and it WILL clear stock s14 rims....not talking about blackies or steelies but the 16" alloy rims (its a little close though )

the biggest difference in price is if you deicde to get new calipers or rebuilt ones....

Or learn the braking limits of your car so you don't have too!

...and if you don't have ABS you can use the brakes as more of an advantage with weight transfer!

Most people I know just get the 300zx brakes up front, I have no clue why, but it is sufficient, i've driven in one and absolutly loved it.
