2 newbie questions here...
1. i just got my car back from getting power steering installed. i have an 89 s13 hb. the power steering pump pully doesn't line perfectly up with the crank pully. my garage guy, said he might have put the s14 bracket on the pump. is there much of a difference between the s13 and s14 power steering pump bracket? or could it be the crank pully?
2. i had some electrical problems, my brake lights stayed lite and killed my battery. the question i have is, i jump started my engine and it started. but after about 20 seconds of idling, the motor died. is this an alternator problem? or is it that my battery is so dead that it can't keep the motor running. in my experience, i have heard that after the motor is started, the engine runs off of the alternator while charging the battery. this is why i suspect the alternator is bad. it is a stock ka 89 alternator on a red top sr.
thanks for the input guys. i know these are newbie questions, and i have my guy looking into the problems. but i just wanted to know for myself.

1. i think the s14 has the ps on the other side of the engine bay so the s14 bracket wouldn't fin the s13. if i'm correct.
2.take it to an auto zone or any parts store that will do free testing. or if you have a mullet meter you can check it yourself.

i don't think the pully ever came off of the pump. but the whole power steering assembly came off of an s14. the alignment of the pump pully and the center groove of the crank pully is off by like a centimeter or two. will flipping the pully of the pump fix anything? i still haven't heard if the power steering pump brackets are different for the s13's and s14's?

Hey guys. i got my alternator tested and it was bad. so i got it replaced at auto zone.
as for the power steering pump, i tried to flip the pully around but the stock pully only fits one way.
