something very interesting.

Ok guys ive been building my sr20det back up ever so slowly and ive noticed some interesting things along the way thats makin to think this motor is very very new.1st thing the bearings ive pulled off still have the factory light/dark grey coating on the bearing with absolutly no shiny spots. They dont look worn at all. Ive seen bearings with 2000 3000 miles on them these look alot newer. Another think there is clearly japanese writing in sharpie on my block.Hardly any of the aluminum liver spot look.It also still have very visible and clear crosshatching on the cyl walls. Ill post pics tomarrow definatly. The only thing that screwed up the motor there was some type of brass or copper looking material in the #1 cyl like maby a spark plug tip??? something but is seized up my turbo and chewed up the piston alittle. If you guys know any way to kinda track these motors that would be nice or give me some type of insight on how this motor sat so nicely?

The coil packs have a stamp on them shat shows approximately how old the engine is.

if a motor was well maintained, it would show the same signs you have here.

hell, ive had 215k mile KA's that still have the crosshatching... but it is also very likely that the past owner of that motor already rebuilt it. what color was the silicone thats on everything?
