I have recently herd that the sr20det engine block and pistons can actouly handle quite a bit of boost and the only thing holding the sr20 back from handiling 20+ psi of boost is the crap fuel delivery system and if you get new injectors and a new fuel pump you can run boost high enough to get 350+ hp

Is it true

internals are good to about 500hp. thing holding it back form holding 20lbs are the smic and t25. fuel system plays a role too, but thats not the only reason.

Dont set the guy up. Dude the stock fuel injectors can only really handle 10-12psi. After that, you'll be maxing them out. also you have to consider the turbo, which loses its efficiency after 15psi. AND DO NOT FORGET THE HEAD GASKET!! its said that the gasket could handle up to 350hp but i wouldn't do it if i were you. If you plan on doing anywhere around 20psi reliably, upgrade the turbo, fuel system (600cc & up injectors, pump, filter) and in order to run larger injectors, you have to upgrade the ecu (piggyback or stand alone or re-flash ecu) and also get metal head gasket. when thehead gasket is being done, have the shop machine the head so that you will have a completely flat surface so there are no leaks. In addition, you need to upgrade to a front mount intercooler and have a full 3inch exhaust. including the turbo elbow. what you should do is NOT limited to what I have listed. this is just the minimum. a good head set-up and good tuning should also be in order. Hope this helps answer your question.

just to add to what he said the stock MAF isnt good past 300 so its a good idea to get a z32 MAF while your at it, but yea to answer the original question the internals can handle the power you just need the "supporting" mods
