Thumbs up 215 or 225

Hi, I have a tire size dilemma. I am un-decided on whether to go with 215/55 or 225/50 on my 16x6.5 oem SE S14 wheels. I would like to have a bigger contact patch than stock specs. I am not sure if the width/wall will be too large on the 225/50. I have a friend who has the 16x6.5 with 225/50 that uses his car for Autocross, and they seem to hold up well. I saw a s14 with 215/55 today in a parking lot, and the tires looked pretty wide and had a good stance. Could any of you guys post advice, experience, pics of your tire setups with the 16x6.5 oem wheels?

Ride heights helps more contact patch.

You can have a wider tire but the contact patch maybe the same.

A wider tire and taller side wall will give you more understeer and body roll.

Hey Levi, you have an s14 with SE wheels don't you? Would you mind posting your tire setup and a pic of the rear showing the two rear wheels/tires?

Is this setup on s14 16x6.5 wheels? If it is, could you please post pictures of your setup?

Dont mean to thread jack but Does any1 have a setup that they like for stock SE wheels? I'm not a rim person and don't plan on buyin rims unless they were NiSMO's.I bought an xtra rims from someone and they had a 235 tire on it. And it looked good. Does any1 know how a 235 in the rear might drive? I'm guessing even more understeer.

I ran 225/50's all the way around on stock wheels, with s-tech lowering springs and had no problems at all
