300ZX break conversion

in your opinion or with your experance, would it be beter to purchase a break Conversion package from Someone like Heavythrottle

or would it be wise to just get the conversion breaklines and get the parts on my own?

the point here is to save money

thanks for the imput guys!

btw, im in canada, and i just purchased a 1990 coupe, with HUD... got to love the HUD

Buy it on your own and save a few bucks. Just make sure the calipers are up to par!

I agree....If you want to save money, try sourcing everything yourself. If you end up getting some used calipers, I'd recommend that you get them rebuilt.

well thanks guys, ill keep an eye out for a nice pair. and rebuild them myself if needed...

one more question, Would the 30mm Z32's fit within the Stock rims?

i dont want to get rims untill i got my plans for the car all drawn out, But i want to get the engine/break/suspention underway

You said that you have a 90 coupe right? If that's the case then the 30mm Z32 calipers won't clear the stock rims. I have the 26mm calipers and they barely clear the 91-94 SE 7 spokes.

what would be a workaround? to get the 91+ rims? or to get some steelies that would be able to acompany the stock tires and still have enough room for the breaks..

i know this sounds odd, but i dont want to get the rims untill i get the rest of the car eather planned out indefintly or the rest of the mods are done

Hmm...are you that set on doing the Z32 brake conversion? Better pads, new rotors, good brake fluid, and steel-braided brake lines go a long way. But yeah, I'm pretty sure that the 30mm calipers won't clear the 91+ alloys. You could always look for some bigger used rims if you wanted to save money, but you would have to make sure that they would clear.
